This post is a bit of a retro blog. I shot this last summer while in Puerto Vallarta!
It was an amazing day as they all are while on vacation. I was amongst family and so it was that much better. I had talked my niece into bringing with her on vacation one of her dresses. You see she is an amazing Mexican Folkloric dancer in Guadalajara. If you have never seen Mexican folk dancers you are missing out! Currently an awesome group is touring the US, Amalia Hernandez’s Ballet Folklorico de Mexico. I have never seen her but one of my friend’s just saw her and said I should go. So in a few weeks when they are in the Bay Area I just might go see them!
I had so much fun hanging out with her as I always do. I’m just a little bit sad that she lives so far away and can’t hang out with her more often!

I hope you enjoy these images as much as we enjoyed shooting them!!
Oh yea there’s a bunch because I had so many favorites!!
ok one more set!
Nandhi mil gracias por cargar con tu vestido! Para la proxima te traes mas!!

Hi everyone!
This past summer I took a small vacation. Most might think it’s crazy for a wedding photographer to go on vacation in the midst of the wedding season. However I truly believe that there’s no better time than the present to do what you want to do. No sense waiting until you retire to spend time relaxing with family, because that day might never come.
And so I went to Mexico. Here are a few images taken with the Holga.

This is from a fun photo session with one gorgeous young lady!

Oh Holga how I love thee for your mystery and imperfection!!

Contrary to popular belief in some parts of the US, Cinco de Mayo (May 5th) is NOT the celebration of Mexico’s Independence day. Today, September 16th is Mexico’s celebration of it’s Independence!

I’m sure you will have noticed, if you are a regular follower of my blog that I LOVE NEW YORK!! The below images were taken back in October 2008 when I went to NY for the Lucie Awards. Who incidentally are hosting Month of Photography in LA. So if you are in the Los Angeles area you definitely do not want to miss any of these events during MOPLA!!
On to film. All the below images were taken with a pentax as I was on a walking tour of DUMBO and then later over by Wall Street.
As you can see I love to travel and if you want me to come out to your city for a portrait session and or wedding I definitely would be happy to! Contact me and let’s chat.

You are born into your family. No matter how far you may move they are still your family. True friends are the same way, regardless how far you live from each other they are still your friends, and even better these friends are the Family YOU CHOSE.
I developed a roll of film this week, which like many other rolls was unmarked and forgotten about. I was so happy to see the below images on said roll. I met Alejandro about 15 years ago while I lived in Guanajuato. I had decided that my Spanish was turning into Spanglish and the only way to fix that was to go to school in Mexico. I am a Guanajuato native so I thought it was a great idea to enroll in the university there. During my first semester I met Alejandro and we quickly became really good friends having many near death experiences on his motorcycle. Although that is a whole post in itself. I left Guanajuato and moved to Guadalaraja a year and a half later however we remain really good friends –> family. His sons call me “tia” (aunt) and his wife pictured below is like my sister. So much that many times during my visit we went out and left Alex at home with his son. At the time they only had one son.
Have you been to Guanajuato? I wuld love to hear about it. Leave me a comment in the comments section!!
These were taken in October of 2007 during a visit to Guanajuato, Gto. during the International Cervantino festival. IF you’ve never been you should definitely throw it on your “to visit ” list. It’s also an amazing place for a honeymoon and a trash the dress session. I’m more than willing to travel to this location ( or any other) for a session. What do you think?

Hello all 2009 is here!! For my first post of the year I wanted my blog to include a variation of images. You will find some B&W, color and special effects. It’s also very long. In 2009 I will try to post lots & lots more images!!
In this post you will also find one of the things I love most. Travel & location shooting ok well technically that can be two things but they are very related. I love travel & location shoots because they allow me to explore a new place, meet new people while challenging me to deal with something I cannot “prepare” for. The Unknown.
The following couple session was shot while I was in Buenos Aires a “few” weeks ago at the Japanese Garden. I had only emailed with Ricky a couple of times to set up the date and time. I was to meet them just inside the garden at 10:30am, the season late Spring therefore the sun would rise very fast. I will admit I was a little nervous. However upon meeting them the nervousness quickly disappeared. besides being such a beautiful couple. They were also so much fun! Kidding with each other non-stop. By the end of the session I felt as if I had known them a life time. We ended the session by finding a very cool urban park right outside the amazing Japanese gardens. I hope to see them again!! Oh and a special appearance was made by Mr. Duck.
These next two images are similar but different. I wanted to show how it’s very easy to make soemthing look so different just by changing the composition and dimensions. Also because I have a very special love for square images.
let me know which one you like best!!
What do you think? Can you feel the love?
Here we had a special guest join the party:
And of course if you would like to do a session like this one I DO TRAVEL!! Or we can go explore a not so far awy place here in the SF Bay Area!

I walked in to my house Friday November 28th at approximately 12:30am. As I walked through the threshold of my house I sighed.. a BIG DEEP “glad to be home” sigh. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE to travel! I am one of those people that will go anywhere in the world with or without planning.
However I hate long travel times and by long travel times I mean : I left my hotel on Wednesday November 26th at approximately 10:20am Punta Del Este, Uruguay time. We then drove to Montevideo ( about 1.5 hours away) caught a flight to Sao Paolo, Brazil hung out for about 7 hours in the airport waiting for a flight to Houston, Texas. A LOONG 10 hour flight later we landed in Houston, Texas where I had my first Egg Nog Latte of the Season. a few hours later we boarded our flight to San Francisco, California. as I stepped off the plane in SFO about noon I thought I’m almost home! But alas it’s Thanksgiving day and I went straight to my family’s house. A few servings of MEAT later (as if I haven’t ate enough meat in the past two weeks to practically be on an Atkin’s diet, if only it wasn’t for the bread, potatoes and delicious sangria) and the usual round the dinner table conversation, where at least 3 different conversations are going on simultaneously, I finally headed home!
It’s now Friday, November 28th 3:19am and I am thankful for the fabulous life I have had so far, however at the moment I am really thankful for my pillow top mattress and big fluffy comforter.
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!!
How did you spend your Thanksgiving? I would love to hear all about it in the comments.
Here are two images from my trip.. more to come over the next few weeks.
I love these trees! they were all over Buenos Aires. Someone said they were called Paradise Trees.

Was in New York last weekend!! I flew over to attend the Lucie awards. It was the best! Also to visit a really good friend, go to Doze Green’s art show opening and EAT LOTS OF PIZZA!!
I’ll be posting images on my adventures in the upcoming days.
For now just one image, this was taken with a Holga camera. It’s my favorite camera. If I had to take only one camera with me on any given trip, hands down this is the one. My Canon 5D would stay home. Sorry Canon, nothing beats the Holga!
PS- if you would like to purchase a copy of this image. I now have an online storefront on Etsy with my fine art prints, or contact me directly!
