…and then he was up and ready for some sun with his papa!

It’s so hard to think back to when this little one was just a few days old.  and a tiny little thing.

Each time I see her for her portraits, I’m amazed at how much she’s changed.I love her smile that makes her eyes disappear! her mom says it’s the same as grandma’s smile.

And she always manages to surprise me with her personality that is one all of her own, completely different from her big sister or her parents.

I also love the glimmer in her eyes and that spark of recognition when she sees me. Or maybe it’s a baby high that she gets to be in the spotlight.

She’s a natural model!

The thing that I love most about my sessions with babies and watching them grow is that in 10, 20, 30, … years when these moments have begun to fade from the memory,

there will still be evidence of when they were more than just a faint memory.

I’m looking forward to capturing her 1 year old portraits! As well as attending her First Birthday party and watching her dig into her Birthday cake!!!

May 10th is Mother’s day in Mexico!

Since everyone was bombarded yesterday with wishes I thought I would save this Mother to Be post for today!! :-)

These two are going to be some of the best parents ever!!

I’ve known Ligia forever. We met in grade school and are a lot alike. Especially in the independent part.

So a few years ago when she told me about this guy she had met and really liked I thought WOW! I can’t wait to meet him.

The moment I met Rick I knew he was special!

You can tell for yourself by the way he looks at her and smiles. Rick has one of those smiles that comes from the bottom of his heart and is filled with warmth and love.

We had so much fun during the session, goofing off and talking about girlie pink rooms. That Ligia is completely opposed to, but Rick has a secret plan to paint the room super pink and hang up ruffled curtains! Just Kidding!!

At one point we even started talking about the birthing videos she was watching. Yikes!! I think that is where Rick wanted to run off!

& secretly me too!!!

I can’t wait to meet the little one!

Be sure to leave your wishes &  advice for these parents to be in the comments section. I’ll make sure they get every one!

I love the Herrera family!  They are absolutely hands down one of my all time favorite families! I’ve talked about them and shot them many times. You can see them here, here and probably a few more places and in a few months you will see this little one turn ONE!

Together they know how to have fun and joke around which I always love! Seriously I love silly faces and hugs and giggles. So I always make time for that.

However on this day it was all about the little one, getting ready for her baptism. The official welcoming into God’s family!

Her godparents came out for the occasion!

When I’m shooting I always like to interact with whoever I’m shooting and this cutie told me her dress was very tasty and that is why she couldn’t stop trying to eat it. ;-)

And for instant gratification .. here is her big sister showing her off

I remember being a kid and only wanting to play with the teenagers and then as a teenager wanting to be 18 and then 21. My dad used to say “cual es la prisa?” (what’s the hurry?) I didn’t get it waaaay back then.

I have known Angela since she was a freshman in high school. Coincidentally the same high school I went to Notre Dame San Jose, although she’s a  few years younger than me.

I have known Jose since they were  dating still in their teens.

Together they have become a couple I admire. They are not only awesome husband & wife but also fantastic friends and amazing parents!!

Angela asked me to photograph their 10 year annivesery/family portraits with their not quite 1 year old back in November 2007. Which also happens to be when I first started blogging. Since then I have seen that little girl go from being the baby of the family to an older sister, who is learning to share and look out for this new being.

As an older sister myself, I can tell you sharing isn’t the easiest thing to have to do after a few years of everything being “mine only”. ;-)

Each new session, I want to hold time still and tell these two little girls Don’t grow up so quickly!

Hi there!

I can’t believe how fast a time goes by. Really.

This young man will be off to college before we know it! I am so honored to have been a part of his first year and look forward to seeing him as the years go by.

The session started out with a nice clean outfit.

However before it was over, this little one had came conquered and left. ;-)

I can’t wait to see you again!!

This summer has been a busy one. I’m finally catching up with holidays right around the corner I want to be sure to get all my Summer activities up.

At the beginning of summer I got to hang out with an awesome family and have some fun belly finger painting along with a gorgeous view. You may remember them from this session.
Finally! Jose & Angela welcomed their second daughter: Miranda. She’s such a cutie! But honestly I couldn’t believe she was only days old when I photographed her.. she was already moving around and very willful. Mom said she was just as strong and active in her tummy. Yikes!!
Look how long she is already!!
How cute are these little feet?
I’m really going to enjoy following this little one and her older sister around for the next year!
Welcome to the world! I’m sure together these sisters will surely take over the world. They already took over their parents world. ;-)
