I remember being a kid and only wanting to play with the teenagers and then as a teenager wanting to be 18 and then 21. My dad used to say “cual es la prisa?” (what’s the hurry?) I didn’t get it waaaay back then.
I have known Angela since she was a freshman in high school. Coincidentally the same high school I went to Notre Dame San Jose, although she’s a few years younger than me.
I have known Jose since they were dating still in their teens.
Together they have become a couple I admire. They are not only awesome husband & wife but also fantastic friends and amazing parents!!
Angela asked me to photograph their 10 year annivesery/family portraits with their not quite 1 year old back in November 2007. Which also happens to be when I first started blogging. Since then I have seen that little girl go from being the baby of the family to an older sister, who is learning to share and look out for this new being.
As an older sister myself, I can tell you sharing isn’t the easiest thing to have to do after a few years of everything being “mine only”.
Each new session, I want to hold time still and tell these two little girls Don’t grow up so quickly!

Ok not even close. However when you are suddenly inspired it’s not a bad alternative and it makes calls most of the time. Hey Apple -ATT can you please fix the dropped calls issue. It’s bad especially when it drops right as I’m driving past Apple headquarters in Cupertino , CA. But that is a post all of it’s own.
So anyways if you follow my blog/twitter/facebook you know how much I hate cold & rain. But as much as I hate it I love it! Not the cold, I still hate the cold. I love the beautiful filtered light on overcast days, the reflections found after a hard rain when everything is slick and the amazing intricate shapes raindrops leave on windows causing an altered reality as you sit on a cold train heading to an even colder city: San Francisco, CA.

Ok Let me just say how much I’m loving my new site and the big pictures!! I hope you love them too.
Her name is Azucena, it means White Lily. But I call her Azu or Zay-Zay. My dad used to call her Zayna and a few people call her chuchis…regardless She’s one of my two sister and there’s a brother too! All of which will possibly make a debut here.
This post is a bittersweet post. A few weeks ago I shot my Little sister (um yeah she hates that I call her that especially when I tell everyone I’m the little sister). Anyways we had so much fun. It was pretty cold out but she was a total trooper and a big ham in front of the camera we just had fun. Zero inhibitions and a lot of goofing off.
We did a little hill climbing, she was wearing cute boots I was wearing grimy flip flops. We didn’t really think it out obviously but still it was fun.
Later she changed into something more casual and warmed up by doing like House of Pain and ” jump up jump up and get down”
Oh and here comes the bitter part…. She MOVED this weekend and not just across the Bay. She moved across the country to some place in North Carolina. I mean really what is there??? Ugh!
So anyways, this little Just because session was a fun adieu. And when the moving truck arrives with a framed print from this session I expect a photo of it hanging in her new home.
